North Smithfield Emergency Management proposes to train a CERT team in each neighborhood, starting in 2007. A Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a group of 10 to 20 citizens trained and certified by NSEMA to provide emergency assistance in their own neighborhood for the first 72 hours following a disaster. They could be activated for:
